Rovshan Rustamov, chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), currently on a visit to Georgia, met with Lasha Abashidze, the newly appointed CEO of Georgian Railways.
Axar.az reports the chairman of ADY congratulated his Georgian counterpart on his new appointment and wished him success in his work.
During the meeting, the prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries in transport and logistics, ensuring the efficient operation of international corridors passing through Azerbaijan and Georgia, and improving East-West-East transportation were discussed. The importance of increasing cargo shipments via the Middle Corridor and the role of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway line in this regard were especially emphasized.
Discussions also focused on enhancing the operations of the BTKI Railways LLC joint venture to ensure efficient cargo transport on the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway and to attract new freight.
