An event dedicated to May 28 – Independence Day was held in the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
Axar.az informs Yuriy Vilkul, the acting mayor of the city, members of the city council, public representatives, and diaspora activists attended the event.
The participants first viewed an exhibition dedicated to Azerbaijani-Ukrainian friendship.
Yuriy Vilkul congratulated our compatriots on this remarkable day. Three members of the "Azerbaijani Diaspora" organization in Kryvyi Rih received certificates of appreciation from the city hall. In return, the organization presented Yuriy Vilkul with an Azerbaijani carpet as a gift.
Head of the "Azerbaijani Diaspora" organization in Kryvyi Rih, Kamaladdin Agayev, spoke about the history and significance of Azerbaijan's independence.
The event concluded with an cultural program featuring saz melodies, Azerbaijani national dances, and music from Gara Garayev’s ballet Path of Thunder.
