A delegation led by Lieutenant General Namig Islamzada, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander of the Air Force, has visited the Republic of Uzbekistan at the invitation of Major General Akhmad Burkhanov, Commander of the Air Defense and Air Force of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Axar.az informs, citing the Ministry of Defense, the delegation began their visit in Tashkent by visiting Heydar Aliyev Park, where they laid flowers at the monument to the National Leader and paid their respects to his memory.
Lieutenant General Namig Islamzada met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Major General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, as well as his Uzbek counterpart, Major General Akhmad Burkhanov.
During the meetings, the current state and future prospects of military cooperation between the two countries were discussed. The sides exchanged views on the importance of mutual visits to strengthen the exchange of experience in military aviation and air defense, along with other areas of mutual interest.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also toured the "Chirchik" airfield and one of the military units, where they were briefed on operations and the facilities in place.
The visit concluded with discussions on a number of issues of mutual interest and a Q&A session.
