Lake Urmia water levels hit record low - Photo

The latest satellite image of Lake Urmia released shows that the lake has almost completely dried up this summer, and the amount of water in the lake has dropped to a minimum level.

Axar.az informs that Iranian media reported this.

It was reported that the water level of Lake Urmia is currently 1.14 billion cubic meters, which is a decrease of 1.44 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year and 15.19 billion cubic meters compared to the long-term average.

It should be noted that the minimum ecological water level of Lake Urmia should be 15 billion cubic meters, and the maximum ecological water level should be 30 billion cubic meters.
