Carney condemned Israel’s military operations in Lebanon

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned Israel’s military operations in Lebanon.

Axar.az reports, citing CBC, during a news conference in Quebec, Carney told reporters that "It's an illegal invasion" of Lebanon. It's a violation of their territorial sovereignty and integrity."

He pointed to the actions of the Lebanese government, saying: "From a practical perspective, the Government of Lebanon has banned (the Lebanese group) Hezbollah. It's taking action, is trying to take action against Hezbollah and their terrorist activities and their threats to Israel, and that is the purported justification for this invasion."

"So, we condemn it," he added.

Since Hezbollah carried out a cross-border attack on March 2, Israel has conducted extensive airstrikes and launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese authorities report that these Israeli attacks have killed at least 1,247 people and injured 3,690 others.
