Azerbaijan, Ukraine sign e-Permit transport deal

Azerbaijan and Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of an electronic permit system (e-Permit) in international road transport.

Axar.az reports that Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, stated this on his X account.

“We held a meeting in the city of Leipzig with Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Territorial Development, Oleksiy Kuleba,” Nabiyev wrote.

He noted that the sides discussed expanding cooperation in the transport sector, particularly increasing transit opportunities in international road transport and applying digital solutions.

“We discussed issues related to expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the field of transport, especially increasing transit opportunities in international road transport and the application of digital solutions,” he said.

Nabiyev added that the memorandum on introducing the e-Permit system was signed during the meeting. The initiative is expected to simplify border crossings, digitalize transport operations, and create a more flexible and efficient environment for carriers.
