A meeting was held between Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan.
Axar.az reports that according to a statement by the MFA, during the meeting, the current state and development prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNCTAD were discussed.
The parties exchanged views on opportunities for collaboration in sustainable development, international trade, investment promotion, digital transformation, green economy, and the integration of developing countries into global economic processes.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan's commitment to multilateral cooperation and provided information on the country"s initiatives in regional connectivity, transport and logistics capabilities, energy security, and climate agenda.
Rebeca Grynspan expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between UNCTAD and Azerbaijan and highly valued Azerbaijan"s growing role in regional economic cooperation and connectivity projects.
She highlighted the importance of expanding joint projects in trade and development under the UNCTAD framework.
The meeting also covered the post-conflict normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, reconstruction and development efforts in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as the situation in the Middle East and the impact of existing tensions on the global economy and trade.
Other regional and international issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
