Azerbaijan was named the country of honor at the 2nd International Meeting of Moroccans of the World, held in Larache, Morocco, from August 2 to 4, 2026.

Axar.az reports that Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Morocco, Nazim Samadov, announced the news in a post on X.

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Morocco participated in the event, where Chargé d'Affaires Tural Rasulov highlighted the strong ties between the two countries.

"The Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy Mr. Tural Rasulov took the floor to underline the excellence of the relations of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Morocco, as well as the essential role of diasporas in bringing peoples closer together and the development of international exchanges," Samadov stated.
