Turkish media widely covers Aliyev’s key remarks -

Key points from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s interview with Azerbaijan Television have received widespread coverage in the Turkish media.

Axar.az reports that leading news agencies, television channels, news portals and newspapers in the brotherly country have shared the Azerbaijani leader’s statements with their millions of viewers and readers, as well as published quotes from President Ilham Aliyev’s interview.

"Turkiye" newspaper, in an article headlined “Zangezur Corridor expands! Aliyev explains the issue in detail,” highlighted the importance of the route connecting Azerbaijan’s mainland with Nakhchivan, an integral part of the country, for Turkiye and the entire Turkic world.

The newspaper familiarized its readers with the Azerbaijani president’s statements, emphasizing that TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) is not merely a railway and highway.

Quoting President Ilham Aliyev on the opening of the Zangezur Corridor, the newspaper noted: “In the future, this route could also be used for fiber-optic cables, power lines and, if necessary, oil and gas pipelines.”

"Hurriyet", "Milliyet", "Star" and other newspapers also presented President Ilham Aliyev’s statements to their readers.

In an article titled “Azerbaijani President assesses the Zangezur Corridor,” the Anadolu Agency recalled the results of the historic Washington summit held on August 8, 2025, where the issue of the Zangezur Corridor was resolved.

The agency shared with its subscribers the head of state’s remarks on the construction of a railway line to the Armenian border and railway works in Nakhchivan. It noted that Baku aims to increase cargo transportation through this transport corridor to at least 15 million tonnes annually.

The agency paid particular attention to President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks about the threat posed to neighboring countries by Armenia’s aging nuclear power plant.

Anadolu Agency quoted the Azerbaijani president as saying:

“...Because their main source of energy today is the nuclear power plant. They do not have control over its management either. That is the first point. Second, this plant is outdated and poses a threat to the entire region. Azerbaijan and Turkiye have repeatedly expressed their concerns about this issue on various international platforms. Extending the plant’s operating life cannot be an endless process; sooner or later, it must be shut down. Naturally, if it is shut down, Armenia will plunge into a complete energy crisis. Therefore, as they say, having an additional source [of energy] can only be beneficial.”

Popular Turkish television channels "HaberGlobal", "HaberTurk" and "Ulusal TV" also aired reports on the Azerbaijani president’s statements and published related news on their websites and social media pages.
