A delegation led by Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Khankendi city and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, who is on an official visit to Romania, held meetings at the Romanian Parliament on August 17.

The meeting focused on the development of bilateral relations, interregional cooperation and issues of mutual interest.
Varga noted the historic friendship and close partnership between Romania and Azerbaijan and said he was ready to provide parliamentary support for developing economic and investment ties between the regions of the two countries. He also highlighted the positive development of relations between the two parliaments and invited the Azerbaijani side to cooperate with Arad County, which he represents.
Yusubov briefed Varga on the agreements reached during his visit to Romania’s Maramures region. He also spoke about large-scale reconstruction and development projects being carried out in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories in the Karabakh region, including infrastructure projects and opportunities created for foreign investors.
Yusubov thanked the Romanian side for its hospitality and invited Varga to visit Khankendi.
The delegation also met with Marian Neacsu, deputy chairman of Romania’s ruling Social Democratic Party, member of parliament and Romanian co-chair of the Romania-Azerbaijan parliamentary friendship group, as well as MP Radu Oprea, at the Chamber of Deputies.
The sides exchanged views on parliamentary relations and planned activities.

He stressed the importance of preparing an action plan to develop economic cooperation, organizing reciprocal visits and implementing joint projects.
