Kazakhstan holds snap elections for parliament

Kazakhstan holds snap elections for its unicameral parliament.

Axar.az reports that a total of 10,423 polling stations are operating across the country.

Of these, 79 have been established at Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions in 61 foreign countries.

Voting began at 7:00 a.m. local time (6:00 a.m. Baku time) and will continue until 8:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. Baku time).

A total of 12,605,788 voters are expected to cast their ballots.

Seven political parties are competing for seats in the parliament: Adal, Auyl, Baytaq, Ak Zhol, the Nationwide Social Democratic Party (OSDP), the People’s Party of Kazakhstan (NPK), and Respublica.
