Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Iran has issued a notice to Azerbaijani citizens seeking to return home.

Axar.az reports that the embassy shared the information on its X account.

“Attention to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan currently in the Islamic Republic of Iran due to the cancellation of scheduled passenger flights from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan!

Azerbaijani citizens who have purchased air tickets to return to Azerbaijan but are unable to do so due to the cancellation of flights are requested to contact the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran or the Consulate General in Tabriz so that assistance can be provided and their return facilitated through the land border crossing points operating between Azerbaijan and Iran,” the notice said.

Azerbaijani citizens who purchased tickets from Iranian airlines for flights to Azerbaijan are advised to contact the sales offices of the respective airlines to request refunds.

It should be recalled that flights operated by Iranian airlines to Azerbaijan have been temporarily suspended.
