A contract for the supply of ROKETSAN’s Barbaros Coastal Defence System to Azerbaijan has been signed during the ADEX 2026 defence exhibition in Baku.

Axar.az reports, citing Haber Global, that the system will be added to the inventory of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces under the agreement signed between ROKETSAN and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence Industry.

ROKETSAN General Manager Murat Ikinci said the deal would make a strategic contribution to defence industry cooperation between Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

“We are very pleased that our Barbaros Coastal Defence System will be added to the inventory of the Azerbaijani army. With its capabilities, Barbaros will play a strategic role as Azerbaijan’s new guardian on its coastline,” Ikinci said.

According to ROKETSAN, Barbaros is a mobile coastal defence system capable of operating with ATMACA and CAKIR cruise missiles. The system includes launcher and command-and-control vehicles and can be integrated with higher-level combat management systems.

The company said its mobile design provides high manoeuvrability and rapid response capabilities against maritime threats, while its configuration can be adapted to user requirements.
