The second meeting of heads of defense industry institutions of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on October 1 as part of the 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX-2026).
Axar.az reports that Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense Industry Vugar Mustafayev, OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev and heads of defense industry institutions from the member states attended the meeting.
Mustafayev welcomed the participants to Azerbaijan and said that holding the meeting alongside ADEX-2026 was particularly significant. He noted that the event provided an important opportunity not only for discussions but also for countries to see each other’s industrial capabilities, technologies and potential partners in one place.
Mustafayev said relations among Turkic states are developing on the basis of high-level dialogue, mutual trust and common interests, adding that cooperation in the defense industry is becoming an increasingly practical and strategic area of these relations.
The meeting addressed human resources and engineering capabilities, institutional cooperation, joint production and industrial cooperation, research and development, and new technologies. The OTS Secretary General and heads of defense industry institutions from the member states also delivered remarks.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of a Roadmap for Cooperation in the Defense Industry among OTS member states.
It should be noted that the first meeting of heads of defense industry institutions of OTS member states was held last year as part of the IDEF 2025 exhibition in Istanbul, Turkiye.
