Hajiyev: Revanchist forces remain strong in Armenia

"Azerbaijan is also alarmed by regional developments in the broader Middle East. We are also preparing ourselves for long-term relative instability in the surrounding region," Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said at the CAMCA Regional Forum.

Axar.az informs that he emphasized that certain tendencies seen in Armenian society are also alarming: "Still, revanchist forces are quite predominant in the society, and we hear different voices. And in the meantime, yet another worrisome element is that revanchism is alive among the Armenian youngsters. Unfortunately, they are still thinking in the terms of the revanchism that's worriesome. Therefore, we are urging the Armenian government as well that they should work very hard to prepare their people for the peace.”

"But from the Azerbaijani side, we have a strategic determination to pursue the agenda of peace and consolidate it on the ground, and to build such an original architecture based on the concept of peace, that it can provide long-term peace and stability for the Armenian-Azerbaijani people," the Assistant to the President stated.
