Axar.az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-U.S. bilateral relations, as well as regional issues.

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the importance of the historic summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025, in elevating Azerbaijan-U.S. relations to the level of a strategic partnership. The sides noted with satisfaction the rapid progress in bilateral ties across various areas following the agreements reached in Washington.

In this context, they emphasized the importance of the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between Azerbaijan and the United States on February 10, 2026, in further strengthening the institutional foundations of bilateral relations and identifying new areas of cooperation. The meeting also reviewed the work of the working groups established as part of the implementation of the charter, as well as efforts to develop specific projects and roadmaps for the period ahead.

The sides also discussed ways to expand Azerbaijan-U.S. economic and energy cooperation. In this regard, they noted that agreements reached in the energy, investment, high-tech and other sectors as part of Baku Energy Week and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum would contribute to strengthening the economic foundations of the bilateral strategic partnership.

Bayramov provided information on Azerbaijan’s infrastructure projects aimed at developing the region’s energy, transport and logistics potential, expanding the Middle Corridor, promoting investment and strengthening regional connectivity.

The sides emphasized that the TRIPP project would make an important contribution to developing transport and economic connectivity in the region, ensuring unimpeded connectivity through Azerbaijani territory to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and creating broader regional transit opportunities.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the process of normalizing Azerbaijan-Armenia relations.

Bayramov briefed his counterpart on Azerbaijan’s efforts to advance the peace agenda, implement the agreements reached, open regional communications and strengthen lasting peace and stability in the region, while conveying Azerbaijan’s position on these issues.

The sides stressed the importance of continuing efforts to further strengthen the Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership across all areas of mutual interest and implement the agreements reached in practice.
