The United Kingdom and Azerbaijan have agreed on the text of a new strategic partnership and signed a roadmap for cooperation on transport and digital infrastructure, UK Minister of State for Trade Anas Sarwar said.

Axar.az reports that Sarwar stated on X that the agreements would deepen economic and security ties between the two countries and open a new chapter in bilateral relations.

"We have agreed the text of a new strategic partnership between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan. And we have signed a roadmap for transport and digital infrastructure. It will deepen our economic and security ties and write the next chapter.

In my meeting with President Aliyev we agreed to cooperate on education, science, digital transformation, energy and infrastructure. A partnership built on the foundations of open trade, investment, innovation and crucially people to people and business to business relationships.

I’m in Baku getting deals done and supporting British jobs and industry," Sarwar stated.
