Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan hold consular consultations in Baku

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry and Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry have held another round of consular consultations in Baku.

Axar.az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, that the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, head of the Consular Department of the Foreign Ministry, while the Uzbek delegation was headed by Abduvakhit Tursunov, deputy head of the Consular and Legal Department.

Representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Science and Education, State Migration Service and State Border Service, as well as the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan, also attended the meeting.

The consultations included an exchange of views on the current state and prospects for developing consular cooperation between the two countries.

The sides discussed cooperation in justice, education, border management, migration and other key areas. They also stressed the importance of strengthening the bilateral legal framework to ensure the rights and protection of citizens.

At the end of the talks, the heads of the two delegations signed the protocol of the meeting.
