A father and his son have been seriously injured in a mine explosion in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district.

Axar.az reports, ciitng Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, that the incident has brought the number of mine victims in Azerbaijan since the end of the 2020 war to 443.

“This horrific incident once again demonstrates the deadly and indiscriminate threat posed by landmines, which continue to claim innocent lives and inflict devastating injuries,” the ministry said.

Azerbaijan has condemned the continued threat posed by mines and called for greater international attention to mine clearance efforts in the country.
