More than 400 Azerbaijani citizens, including women and children, have been killed or injured in mine incidents since 2020, while the total number of casualties has exceeded 3,500 over the past three decades.
Axar.az reports that Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Tofig Musayev, made the statement.
“These figures underscore the urgent need for sustained international support for mine clearance and victim assistance, as well as for strengthening national mine-action capacities,” he noted.
