All Azerbaijani citizens aboard a vessel attacked off the Romanian coast have been rescued.
Axar.az reports that Aykhan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), said this in a comment to the media.
According to the information, on October 23, the foreign-flagged cargo vessel KHORYV, which was carrying Azerbaijani citizens, came under a drone attack 13 nautical miles from Romania’s Port of Constanta.
“According to the information we have received, all three Azerbaijani citizens among the vessel’s 13 crew members have been rescued. Rufan Khaliq oglu Ahmadov, born in 1992, who sustained minor injuries, underwent a medical examination and was accommodated at a hotel.
Coordination efforts are being carried out in cooperation with Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Romania and the relevant competent authorities. Necessary measures are being taken to provide consular assistance to our citizens.
“Once again, we call on Azerbaijani citizens to refrain from travelling to regions where military operations are underway and the security situation is unstable, as well as from working in these areas or aboard vehicles travelling along high-risk routes, particularly on vessels operating in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov,” the statement said.
