Japan condemns Istanbul attack

The Japanese government has condemned the deadly nightclub attack in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in a statement that the Japanese government offers its deep condolences to the bereaved families and to those who were injured in Sunday's shooting rampage.

The statement adds that terrorism can never be justified, and Japan strongly condemns this terrorist act and expresses its strong sense of solidarity with the Turkish government and its people.
