Cavusoglu to meet UN body representative

The High Representative of the UN’s Alliance of Civilizations will visit Turkey on Feb. 4 and 5 upon an invitation by Turkish foreign minister, the ministry said on Sunday.

Axar.az reports citing Anadolu Agency.

Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Mevlut Cavusoglu and Miguel Moratinos are expected to hold consultations on the “activities in the period ahead within the scope of the Alliance of Civilizations initiative, which Turkey co-sponsors since 2005”.

The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations is a political initiative of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and co-sponsored by Turkey and Spain.

Spain’s former Foreign Minister Moratinos assumed his position as high representative in January last year.
