Russian HR ombudsperson plans to visit UN General Assembly

Russian human rights ombudsperson Tatyana Moskalkova plans to visit the United States to attend the UN General Assembly session on elderly people.

Axar.az reports citing TASS.

"Yes, the trip is planned. The UN General Assembly will focus on the issue of defending the rights of elderly people at one of its sessions. I have been invited to this forum," Moskakova told reporters on Thursday.

She did not specify the date of the visit.

When asked whether she plans to visit Konstantin Yaroshenko and other Russian nationals held at US prisons, Moskalkova said that they are all held at different facilities in different parts of the country. "I'll see whether it will be logistically possible," she noted.
