Azerbaijan expect to hold substantive negotiations in line with the Madrid principles, so that, a gradual settlement of the Karabakh issue.
Political scientist Arzu Naghiyev told this to Axar.az according to the political scientist, Irevan now should put forward a concrete position:
"There were four at the level of the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers and three unofficial meetings at the level of heads of state on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. These meetings mainly focused on the attitude and position of the parties and did not specifically address the issue. At the meetings held so far, a number of issues have been clarified in the direction of preparing citizens for peace and taking important steps in the area of regional development. But remembered with inadequate exits, Pashinian delayed the peace process by attempting to involve separatist forces as a third party. Naturally, Azerbaijan has abandoned these absurd attempts of Yerevan"
The expert said that Baku could force Yerevan to clarify its position in the upcoming talks:
"Azerbaijan is a country with occupied territory and 1 million refugees. Baku's desire is that the occupiers immediately vacate our lands and thus start another phase of negotiations. Azerbaijan has unambiguously considered all the principles and is ready for peace talks within its territorial integrity. Otherwise, all responsibility will remain with Armenia. Irevan should not forget that Azerbaijan keeps the issue of military solution on the agenda as a bet, and it is absolutely possible in the present reality. Azerbaijan has tested this variance in 2016, and no response to our country has been made"
