Assad refused to grant the Kurds autonomy

Damascus will not accept Kurdish autonomy.

Axar.az reports that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's adviser Buseyna Shaban said in an interview with Al Mayadin television. According to him, there is no justification for it yet:

"The number of Kurds in any region of Syria is low. We cannot speak of any form (autonomy, similar to the Iraqi Kurdish Autonomous Region). Syria is made up of many ethnic and religious layers, and we cannot say that one is a Kurdish person and one is from another religion. Most Kurds are a valuable part of our society, but some Kurdish organizations have made political decisions that are contrary to the country's interests.”
