Moldova: Voting begins in local elections

People began to cast ballots early Sunday in Moldova's local elections.

Axar.az reports citing Anadolu Agency.

Voting began at 7.00 a.m. local time (0400GMT) and will continue till 9.00 p.m. (1800GMT).

More than 2.8 million citizens are eligible to vote in 1,969 polling stations to elect 898 mayors and 11,580 councilors for a four-year term.

Over 1,500 observers will monitor the elections in Moldova.
