Senators` letter to Trump: Erdogan should not come

Members of the US House of Representatives have sent a letter to President Donald Trump expressing their opposition to the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Washington.

This was reported by the Turkish press.

"Considering the current circumstances, Erdogan's visit to the United States is a very inconvenient event," he said. This invitation must be withdrawn, ”the letter said.

The letter, chaired by Eliot Engel, chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, said that Turkey's operation in northeastern Syria had devastating consequences for US national security and created deep cracks between NATO.

The letter also touched upon Turkey's rapprochement with Moscow.
