France has a long tradition of submitting to Russian pressure.

Axar.az reports this was stated by Poland's Parliamentary Member of the European Parliament, Jacques Sariush Wolski, in an interview with Polska Times.

He said the reason for this was the Russian orientation in the political elite of the republic:

“I think Macron is used to Russian pressure. There is a long-standing Russian tendency here, especially in the left elite. Macron sees his relationship with Moscow as a priority to compensate for his failure in domestic politics.
