African Union demand for England: Withdrawn

Britain must put an end to colonial regimes on the Chagos Islands, which belong to Mauritius, and withdraw from the region.

Axar.az reports this was stated by the Chairman of the African Union Commission, Musa Faki Mohammed. He said he was concerned about the colonial regime in the region, saying that Britain had violated UN resolutions.

He said he would support Mauritius for the region's independence, saying the six-month deadline for moving to England is over.

Note that the UN Security Council on May 22 urged Britain to surrender Chagos Islands to Mauritius within 6 months.
