The EU could not impose sanctions on Russia over Turkey

The European Union has failed to accept new sanctions against Crimean officials.

Axar.az reports this information was reported by Reuters.

The sanctions were rejected due to Cyprus's position. Cyprus, in turn, called for Brussels to consider tougher measures against Turkey.

Thus, Cyprus asked EU members to prevent oil and gas exploration from Turkey's proximity to the island.
