Hong Kong statement from 5 countries: Concerned...

The foreign ministers of the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have expressed concern over the anti-democratic process in Hong Kong.

Axar.az informs that, this was stated in a joint statement of the two countries.

"The Hong Kong leadership is unjustly removing opposition members from the elections and postponing them. We are concerned about this situation. The elections must be held in an environment where people's democratic rights are protected," the statement said.

Hong Kong President Kerry Lam has announced that the September 6 Legislative Council elections have been postponed for a year.
