UN Security Council decides to lift an embargo on Iran

The UN Security Council has rejected a draft resolution extending the US arms embargo on Iran.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He said the UN Security Council was responsible for maintaining international peace and security, but today it was not bound by its fundamental mission.

Pompeo said the UN Security Council had paved the way for the world's sponsor of terrorism to buy and sell weapons.
