Armenia targets Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline - Official

Armed forces of the occupant Republic of Armenia continue to violate the norms and principles of international law, the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and it’s Protocols, as well as the requirements of the humanitarian ceasefire with firing the settlements and strategic facilities from heavy artillery and various missile systems, deliberately targeting Azerbaijani civilians.

Axar.az reports citing press service of Prosecutor General’s Office.

On October 18, 2020, about at 1 p.m., using war methods that can cause significant damage, Armenian armed forces targeted crude oil and condensate export pipelines which are the non-military targets in the Khizi region of Azerbaijan.

Armenian armed forces tried to launch missile strikes in the direction of Khizi, situated 300 kilometres far from the territory of military operations, a part of explosive fragments of the rocket missile has scattered 250 meters far from Baku—Novorossiysk oil pipeline, passing by Sitalchay of Khizi district, which is strategically important in economic cooperation between Azerbaijan-Russia, as a result of neutralization of rocket by the Air Defense Forces of the Azerbaijani Army on air.

Purposeful destruction of infrastructure facilities, especially the mass amount of properties, have been attempted to be destroyed as a result of the committed crime by creating a dangerous situation for pipelines, which export crude oil and of which destruction can cause serious financial damage, exporting crude oil and condensate with great transport capacity.

Necessary investigative and procedural measures are taken by employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office in the site.
