Karabakh statement from Zakharova

Russia hopes that UNESCO experts will visit Nagorno-Karabakh in the near future to assess the protection of Christian and Muslim temples.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova during a briefing.

"We hope that the mission for the protection and preservation of monuments, established in cooperation with the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides with the participation of influential international NGOs that are partners of UNESCO, will soon come to the region and give an objective assessment of the situation," she said.
