Karabakh statement from Germany

Germany considers the OSCE Minsk Group an appropriate tool for achieving a lasting settlement in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.

He drew attention to the recent escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh:

"In our view, the Minsk Group remains a viable framework for a political solution and lasting peace for the local population." The Minsk Group has a mandate, the potential to build trust and participate in the reconstruction of infrastructure.
