Azerbaijan sends note of protest to France

On December 4, 2020, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zacharie Gross was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that during the meeting, the ambassador was presented with a note of protest from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the resolution “Protection of Armenian people and Christian communities in Europe and the East” adopted by the French National Assembly on December 3.

The Azerbaijani side expressed protest to the ambassador over the document adopted by the French National Assembly, which contradict the norms and principles of international law, the UN Charters, the Helsinki Final Act, as well as the UN Security Council resolutions (822, 853, 874, 884) of 1993.

Ambassador Gross said he will notify Paris of Baku’s position.
