Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan James Sharp congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Axar.az reports that he conveyed his congratulations on January 22 at a meeting with Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.

Noting that he would continue to work for the development of Azerbaijani-British relations, especially in the military field, Sharp said that within the framework of bilateral cooperation, the United Kingdom could assist Azerbaijan in clearing the liberated areas of mines and unexploded ordnance.
