I thank my Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov for congratulating me on my appointment as Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.

"We discussed a number of issues, including prospects for the development of long-term relations and strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan. The importance of maintaining peace in the whole region was stressed," he said.
