It is important that Turkey prepares Egypt's project for hydrocarbon deposits in the Mediterranean, taking into account the sea border defined by the UN.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.
He said he expects this process to continue:
"Egypt and Turkey have many common historical and cultural values. Given this, we think that different processes may take place in the coming days. In particular, this decision of Cairo is in the interests of both Turkey and Egypt and its people. We assess the possibility of any agreement with Egypt in the coming days in accordance with the maritime jurisdiction we have announced at the UN. The Turkish Foreign Ministry is working on the issue in a coordinated manner. We hope that positive results will be achieved."
