Russia strongly supports the steps aimed at normalizing the dialogue between Baku and Yerevan, between Yerevan and Ankara.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova at a weekly briefing.

"Relations in the South Caucasus must develop in a balanced way, taking into account all the countries in the region, on the principles of good neighborliness," she added.

Zakharova also welcomed Russia's return of 15 Armenian servicemen to Armenia on June 12.

"At the same time, we think it is important to address other humanitarian issues, including mine clearance and mapping of minefields."
