It is impossible to achieve peace in the region without mediation. Good neighbourly relations must be established. There is no alternative to this.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a panel discussion on "South Caucasus: New Opportunities for Regional Peace and Cooperation" within the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, Turkey.

According to him, after the trilateral statement signed on November 10, Azerbaijan is taking steps to normalize relations with Armenia. As an example, Bayramov said that last winter Russian gas was allowed to be transported to Armenia via Azerbaijan.

The forum will last from 18 to 20 June.
