Today, the most important issue is the demining of Azerbaijani lands.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Council of Europe Secretary General Maria Pejcinovic while answering questions during the PACE summer session.

According to him, the issuance of mine maps to Azerbaijan for demining of the liberated lands of Azerbaijan is a priority:

"The Council of Europe welcomes Armenia's handing over mine maps to Azerbaijan and the return of Armenian captives. There are many mines in the area liberated due to the long conflict. It will not be possible to return the population until they are found. We are ready to support Armenia and Azerbaijan."

"The Council of Europe has sent a working group to Baku and Yerevan after the military conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The OSCE Minsk Group has been entrusted with dealing with this conflict, and the Council of Europe will continue to support the Minsk Group in this regard. We are ready to do our best to build and strengthen trust between the two countries," he said.
