Pashinyan: Russian troops must be stationed on the border

Russian border guards should be deployed along the border with Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

"In the current situation, I think it is expedient for Russian border guards to consider the deployment of checkpoints along the entire border with Azerbaijan. This will allow us to carry out delimitation and demarcation work without the risk of hostilities," he said.

Pashinyan said he planned to discuss the issue with his Russian counterparts.

He also suggested deploying a CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) monitoring mission at the border.
