Personally, I was pretty sure that Azerbaijan would win easily.

Axar.az reports that Andrea Marcigliano, a senior fellow at the Geopolitical Analysis and International Studies, Il Nodo di Gordio based in Italy, stated this while commenting on the anniversary of the start of the 44-day war.

According to him, the tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia had now reached an extreme. War was already in the reality of things:

"A suspended, low-intensity war that had been dragging on for years. Personally, I was pretty sure that Azerbaijan would win easily. The analyzes of our Think Tank indicated that the technical superiority of the azure forces was evident. Furthermore, Armenia no longer had unconditional support from Moscow. Putin had no interest in a new direct involvement in Nagorno Karabakh. Furthermore, Ankara's support for Baku was evident."
