As a result of the trilateral meeting of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels on December 14, 2021, at the initiative of the President of the Council of the European Union Charles Michel, as well as the bilateral meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President of the Council of the European Union On December 19, 2021, the Republic of Azerbaijan handed over 10 Armenian origin servicemen to the Armenian side through the mediation of the European Union, State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War.

Axar.az reports that Azerbaijan detained them on November 16, 2021, while preventing the provocation committed by the Armenian armed forces in the direction of Kalbajar on the state border.
