President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi.

Axar.az reports that the text of the letter:

"Dear Mr President,

On behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and all your people on the occasion of the national holiday of the Islamic Republic of Iran - the Victory Day of the Islamic Revolution.

Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran stem from the will of our peoples, who have historically lived in a friendly and good-neighbourly environment and share common moral values. We attach special importance to our interstate relations built on such solid foundations.

Today, it is gratifying that our bilateral relations are developing on an upward trajectory. High-level political dialogue, mutual visits and regular meetings, signed documents give a strong impetus to strengthening our cooperation. A clear example of this is the growing scope of our cooperation in economic, trade, energy, transport and other fields."
