Armenia wants to sign an agreement with Azerbaijan

Armenia hopes to sign a legal document with Azerbaijan in the near future, which will allow the beginning construction of the Arazdayan-Julfa-Ordubad-Mehri-Horadiz railway.

Axar.az reports the statement came from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting.

"Currently, we are working on the construction of the Arazdayan-Julfa-Ordubad-Mehri-Horadiz railway passing through Armenia. Technical work has already begun. We hope that the agreements reached will be reflected in the form of a document in the near future and the process will be fully developed, "Pashinyan said.

According to Pashinyan, the government will announce a tender to start construction of the Garakilsa-Gajaran (Sisian-Kajaran) section of the North-South strategic highway:

"Of course, if there are political agreements, the North-South road can connect Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey."
