In Moscow, Russian journalist of Armenian origin Margarita Simonyan asked President Ilham Aliyev a provocative question about the alleged "ban on the entry of ethnic Armenians to Azerbaijan."

Axar.az reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has responded to Simonyan by saying:

"First of all, the information you shared with us, to put it mildly, is not true. We do not have an ethnic ban on entering the country. Numerous visits of delegations from Armenia are proof of this. I personally presented the silver medal to the ethnic Armenian Ukrainian athlete.

In response, Simonyan said, "I know this."

Aliyev also reminded him of the visit of the Armenian Catholicos to Baku.
