The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on the meeting between Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoghlu.

Axar.az informs that the Foreign Ministry told that Bayramov praised the friendly, fraternal and allied relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan. He noted that relations between the two countries have always been close and with the direct participation of heads of state, these relations are developing at a high level in all areas.

Cavusoglu noted the importance of the current visit in terms of developing high-level bilateral relations, the work done to implement the Shusha Declaration, as well as cooperation at the multilateral level. The Minister honored the memory of the martyrs on the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre.

Speaking about the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, Bayramov said that all countries in the region will benefit from the implementation of trilateral statements and steps taken by Azerbaijan in this regard, the delimitation process, including the opening of communication and transport lines. The Minister noted that the elimination of the occupation factor created opportunities for the normalization of relations between the two countries, emphasizing the need for strict observance of the principles of international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of international borders.

The ministers also exchanged views on large-scale restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories. In this regard, the role and active participation of brotherly Turkey in the recovery of the economy and the implementation of constructive work in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan was praised.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries in the economic, trade, agricultural and other fields, as well as stressed the importance of further developing economic ties.

The sides exchanged views on the events in Ukraine, the evacuation of Azerbaijani and Turkish citizens in connection with the situation in the country, and the coordination work carried out in this regard.

The parties also discussed the successful continuation of cooperation within international organizations and other issues of mutual interest.
